Post-operative Dressing is an important aspect of wound care and wound healing since Surgical Site Infection (SSI) is one of the most common infections amongst patients. Leaking or saturated wound dressings can act as a breeding ground for bacteria and allow debris to enter the wound, infecting it and causing complications. At Forum Medical Centre, we understand the importance of wound healing and offer Post-operative dressing to facilitate quick wound healing.

When it comes to Wound Dressing, proper care should be taken to follow doctor’s instructions to prevent infection. It’s worth keeping in mind that rough cleansing of the incision before it has healed completely can result in the wound site reopening. Similarly, try to avoid putting pressure on the wound by coughing, sneezing, vomiting or physically straining your body. The wound needs to be handled with care to ensure it heals properly without any issues.
At Forum Medical Centre, we take pride in the highest standard of service we provide. Our goal is to hell heal the wound by giving it the right atmosphere to promote healing. We cleanse the wound by irrigating it with sterile saline or water (this step is not mandatory and must be done only if the doctor deems it necessary). Post cleansing, Dressings need to be administered and changed eventually as and when needed. Ideally, Post-operative Dressings should provide a good barrier, protecting the wound from outside elements. It should also promote wound healing by providing the wound with a sterile, moist environment.
